Episode 478: The Perfect Parenting Style

18 summers. That is all you get.

How are you spending your remaining summers with your children?

Summer is a time when women tend to feel inadequate because of internal expectations regarding what summer should look like, who we need to be as women, and what our time needs to look like.

It takes a lot of conscious effort to be in alignment with the pace you crave for your summer.

So many times, we overschedule ourselves with activities that overwhelm us. Why can’t we let things go that don’t work?

Why do we do this to ourselves? If it doesn’t work, why don’t we let it go? Letting go of the expectations of others and simply saying, “that doesn’t work for us.”

However many summers you have left with your kids, ask yourself, “what do I need to let go of our put in place to feel in alignment in my life?”

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Find a small thing you can put into place or remove to help you achieve that alignment. We all have things we need to let go of. Don’t be afraid to let go.

“Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you're in diapers; the next day you're gone. But the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul." - The Wonder Years

Time is so precious. It’s okay to not be WITH our children all the time. It’s okay if you want to be with them more.

My challenge for you is to recognize what you need to let go of to create more of this season in your life. What is that? Write it down and implement it this season.

We were not created to do this alone. If you aren’t sure where to start, you can CLICK HERE here to set up an intro call with my team member Sausha to see if my coaching is a perfect fit for what you need.

In this episode, I talk about:

  • How to implement boundaries with your children

  • How to have the courage to show up

  • How to overcome the illusion of perfection
