937: "I Discovered How To Feel Again" {Interview With Isadora Norman}

"We keep becoming better & better versions of ourselves without end, though there may be some glitches, we recover & go on." -Jay Woodman

In this episode, Isadora shares her story and highlights:

  • How to discover yourself again

  • How to identify your feelings

  • How to express your emotions

Isadora is an educator from Oregon and living in Cantabria, in northern Spain since 2004. She is the director at a small public adult education school and has been working as an educator for over 16 years, with experience in bilingual secondary education, teacher training, and lifelong learning. She worked as an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of Cantabria for 7 years while completing her Ph.D. in International and Intercultural Studies, all while continuing her full-time job in the secondary system and becoming a mother. After quitting her much loved “side hustle” in 2018 to focus on her new role as director and raising her two young daughters, she reached a breaking point. She was 36 and had already accomplished everything she had set out to do in life, yet she felt empty, drained, and disconnected. She also weighed 97kg, felt horrible most of the time, was downing most of a bottle of wine after work most nights, and deeply hated who she had become. That fall she embarked on a journey of personal discovery that led her to find renewed purpose, understand her childhood wounds, reconnect to her husband and children, lose 30kg and become who she was truly meant to be.
